How to get to/from Barcelona Airport?
Barcelona Airport is located very near the city centre of Barcelona. The airport has two main terminals (Barcelona Terminal 1 (T1) and Barcelona Terminal 2 (T2)). Terminal 2 is often divided into 2A, 2B and 2C). There are several flights to Barcelona from all over the world every day, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find a flight from your nation to Barcelona. The low-cost airlines mostly use Terminal 2, while the more expensive companies use Terminal 1. Some low-cost airlines use Barcelona-Girona as their airport, which is more than 100km away from Barcelona.
Upon arrival to the airport you can of course jump into a taxi. The cost is normally around 25-30 Euro. The easiest way to reach downtown Barcelona besides using a taxi is to use the “Aerobus”. This leaves from the airport very frequently, and it will take you directly to downtown Barcelona where you can travel on with the metro wherever you prefer. This bus can also be used travelling back to the airport, and the price is 5 Euro per person, per trip.
If you want things even cheaper there is a public transportation bus (number 46) which can be used. This is not travelling as frequently as the Aerobus, but it will take you to Plaza Espanyol in Barcelona from where you can easily travel on in all directions using the public transportation system in Barcelona. The price for this is a normal single ticket, which you can read more about on our public transportation page. You can use this bus to get back to the airport as well, but be in good time as the travel can take up to 45 minutes (while the Aerobus only uses 20-30 minutes). Bus 46 leaves from in front of the Barcelona Stadium at Plaza Espanyol back to the airport.
